SPRING SALE 2025

Hey! It’s March. So it could be time to buy some art. March! As you spring clean, dust off cobwebs and generally spruce up — and by that, we mean the old Botox and spray tan – you may also want to provide a boost to your home, or your office, or your home office. We’re here for you, sisters and misters. One of the countless advantages to being a studio visiting 3wallser is that we see such a lot of top-notch artwork and do, from time to time, depart a visit with a new piece happily tucked under our arms. We want to give you, our loyal newsletter readers, the same shot at our art-scoping advantage with an online sale of goodies we have recently picked out for you. These pieces are all by artists we know and love and would, ourselves, happily share our homes (or offices if we had those) with any of one of their works of art!

Below, you will find magical forests of very different sorts — some radiate vibrant color, and others are veiled in mist; there’s one that’s flooded and maybe a little forlorn. For you, we have snowy days and sunny days and more than one long path to the horizon. We have winter sport — complete with posers, and that other one’s a poseur, for sure — and a hooked bass really wishing it was yesterday. There are summer holidays and a wildly brave jump at Sarakiniko captured en plein air from Milos. One piece will surely bring the joy of late nights with friends rushing back to you — we can all thrill at her dangerously dangling locks (been there). The shimmering, luminous dog is a specter crafted solely from charcoal on linen, as are the beckoning, strangely canine home pods (does anyone else want to lick those? Because we’re thinking black and white candy corn and BE MINE hybrids). There is a provocative and complex bouquet and an abandoned bed (where did they go? Are they ok?). Please pay your respects to the glittering medieval Mary with laser eyes. Oh, and there are bones and body parts too. Have a look!

JOHN REYNOLDS

Transience, liminal spaces and climate uncertainty are woven into John’s vibrant abstract landscape paintings. Reverberating in unexpected colors, trees, castles, passageways and unexpected interpretations of familiar themes are his currency.

CLAIRE CUSHMAN

These paintings, with their multiple paths from the land to the horizon line, depict an imagined, geometric landscape evoking a sense of adventure, openness, and possibility. The color combinations and lively foreground are auspicious, encouraging one onward.

KATHERINE FICHTHORN

A Brooklyn painter and dear friend of 3walls, Katherine’s paintings are snapshots of memories merged with her imagination to evoke feelings and sensations. They are joyful, sometimes quiet, and often tinged with humor. We were so happy to show Katherine in our fall 2024 pop-up, no surprise; her work was a big hit.

DAWN WATSON

Dawn captured the forest in the Witness series in the early hours of a fall day in 2012. The forest was almost completely wiped out by a storm the following spring. In the holding, still, capturing tables of objects, precious and ordinary, natural and made, corporeal and ephemeral, she is referencing Vanitas and the tradition of the Dutch masters.

STEPHANIE SERPICK

The juxtaposition of two mismatched, dualling bouquets in Stephanie’s flower paintings is spectacular. Each side only half itself, it’s wildly compelling. And that bed, with its rumpled sheets, still seemingly warm from its recently departed occupant, embodies grief and healing. The skillfulness of these paintings is magical.

CLARE SPOONER

Clare is a devoted plein air painter and a francophile. She spent six weeks last summer painting in the south of France, traveling to beaches on the bus or catching a ride with a new found friend, painting gear in hand. Niolon was a favorite beach. Greece was a side trip - just for a week, Milos the island of choice and Sarakiniko Beach, also called Moon Beach, a stunning spot.

KYLEE SNOW

Miraculously, Kylee has created these drawings of shiny, luminous objects with only graphite on linen. Creating Something Like This, Kylee was interested in the power of particular objects to hold our memories and identities. It was one of her first experiments with graphite on linen and the texture of the combination really spoke to her. Kylee’s has a quirky community of porcelain objects on a shelf in her studio. Some come from her childhood. Others are new acquistions - gifts among them. With Variations on a Theme, Kylee was thinking about the concept of home and experimenting with imagined shapes and textures.

GEORGIA HUPFEL

Georgia’s work asks that we slow down to contemplate what is worth remembering. It’s not just the act of smoking the cigarette that she is evoking but the pleasure of youth, friendship, intimacy and late nights. Her paintings explore everyday moments that often go unnoticed, recognizing what is both personal and universal about our daily lives. There is a calculated calmness to her work as she telescopes into small joys.

CARRIE-ANNE BRACCO

Carrie-Anne describes how, in the winter of 2015 or maybe 2016, a blizzard shut down much of NYC. On the early evening of a snow day, she walked in the hazy light of dusk. There was no traffic, with nearly empty main streets, side streets were unplowed. People skied home from the park. A few years later, she created a series of paintings contemplating the many-colored lights of freshly fallen white snow from that evening. Green River VIII comes from a series of works inspired by old photos she took in the 1990s while traveling in Ireland and Scotland. Both series are primarily from memory and embody that specific characteristic and feeling.

ALLISON GILDERSLEEVE

Ally’s landscape paintings vibrate with color and energy and, in some cases, a clutter of nature. A deep calm takes over as we navigate our way around the sensorial packed canvas, deciphering the occasionally not immediately recognizable form, and enter fully into Gildersleeve’s works. These works radiate the sensation of a familiar place, although wherever we are, it is clearly cloaked in a magic veil.

REBECCA STEVENS

Rebecca’s work is inspired by organic forms drawn from botany, anatomy, and religious iconography. The patterns found in the structures of plant and animal cells inform abstract and color-infused compositions, with the symbols and ornamentation of religious imagery also play a vital role. Her work explores the human urge to organize philosophical and spiritual thinking into physical and visual forms.
