IN HOUSE RESCUE MISSIONS

Hello 3walls friends and the month of March :)

Pop up coming up! We are excited to present three artists on April 5; Georgia Hupfel and Claire McConaughy, both new to 3walls, and Rob Stephenson, an old friend who is deep into a fabulous, new, New York centric photographic mission. It’s great art and it’s going to be fun. Reach out if you have not received an invite and would like to join us. 

Some of our clients know us for these pop-ups. Nobody loves a party more than us. But many clients turn to 3walls for our in-home art rescue missions. We put our encyclopedic knowledge of local artists, our tireless studio visiting and our advanced listening skills to work for you and fill the lonely spots on your walls. That spot above the fireplace needs something more? How do you adorn the wall on the staircase? The bathroom needs something special and the shelves in the den are calling for more than just books. That spot over the sofa is a favorite of ours!

On the right wall is Rob Stephenson’s Someone Lives Here which our client had purchased previously at our 2018 Planned Parenthood fundraiser.

Stream #9 from Jonathan Smith’s Stream Series is magnificent above the spare wood mantle in another Cobble Hill home. The Brooklyn based architects for this home renovation, Khanna-Schultz, are very talented! We have helped a few of their clients find art and we feel very fortunate whenever we work with them.

Equipped with our measuring tapes and camera phones, we use the opportunity of a home visit to figure out how best the trained members of the Art Rescue Unit—just us, really—can liberate you from aesthetic indecision. We’ll tell you about the artists we work with (we’ll probably be very excited about someone we just saw earlier in the day/week!) and we take tons of notes about what you like. We’ll surely show you some pics from our archive and our inventory, then we’ll take some pics of your trouble spots, and then we’ll be on our way. 

The follow-up email will contain a selection of images of artwork that we think you’ll love. We like to provide multiple options for each spot in need of attention, but we also know that sometimes it’s nice to just have a solution and we can do that too. We’ve become quite expert at photoshop mock-ups that provide a graphic, easily relatable sense of what the new art will look like in your home. We are happy to organize the framing, delivery, and installation of all the artwork and are as serious about staying within the budget as you are.

For the entry way of this Brooklyn Heights carriage house we brought back an old resident in Julie Harmon Dovan’s The Pony I Always Wanted. While technically this piece came from a pop up and not an in home rescue mission, we had met and worked with this client before and had a hunch as to where it would land as soon as we saw it in Julie’s studio!
